At the 2016 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit, AAAA offered Chapter Leadership Workshops for the first time. All Chapter Officers were invited to attend the Workshop that focused solely on chapter-specific issues. Topics included: Recruiting; Programs; Branding; Fiscal Operations; Awards Procedures; Membership Do’s & Don’ts; Scholarship Program Processes … and more.
A chapter is comprised of at least 25 members who share an interest in Army Aviation and reside within a 50 mile radius of the seat of the potential chapter.
In order to ensure Chapters have control over funds and are in compliance with IRS reporting requirements, the following procedures shall be implemented and maintained by each Chapter:
THE PRESIDENT: Serves as Chairman of the Chapter Executive Board; implements National Executive Board policies within the Chapter; implements the desires of the membership as expressed by a legal vote; presides at all formal Chapter meetings; makes an annual report to the Chapter membership covering the significant events and programs during his/her tenure of office; performs such other duties as are normally attached to this office and such duties as are in the best interest of the Chapter Executive Board and its membership.
If you do not provide the AAAA National Office with a prepared copy of your meeting notice, you will not be able to take advantage of the below benefits. If you do not have a meeting notice prepared, you can fill out the Meeting Notice Form and AAAA National will create a basic notice for your Chapter.
A Chapter Refund in the amount of $4.80 per member, per year is available to Chapters who qualify under the following criteria:
As a courtesy for the local chapters, AAAA provides a $25 Speaker Underwrite refund check each time a Chapter conducts a professional meeting at which a guest speaker makes a presentation to the Chapter membership.
The intent of the program is to have the National Office, rather than the Chapter, underwrite the visiting guest speaker's meal. The AAAA National Office will monitor the program through the Chapter's Meeting Notices and will automatically provide the funding.
PURPOSE: In order to encourage better information flow between both the chapters and the AAAA Executive Board, the National Executive Group (NEG) requests feedback on your event. We will use this information for the monthly article on chapters in the Army Aviation magazine and to plan for future funding activities.
The Chapter Baseline Reward program encourages membership growth & retention at the Chapter level through a financial reward system.
An up-to-date Chapter Membership Roster is always available to our chapter officers. Login to the secure membership website and go to your Chapter Directory for a downloadable current roster.
The President, Secretary and the Vice President of Membership of each Chapter can request an Excel Statistical Trends and Data Roster at any time by contacting email@example.com. The roster provides a current list of Chapter members of record with detailed charts regarding statistics and trends.
The list is provided in Microsoft Excel and includes annual and historical data as well. The file is not to be shared with the members as it is for internal use only. If your Chapter has any address or email changes, it must be communicated to the AAAA National Office at firstname.lastname@example.org in a timely manner.

BACKGROUND - BY-LAW PREFERENCE
Section 2.1.3 of the By-Laws states that Chapter Honorary members are "those persons who, in the opinion of the Chapter Executive Board, have given outstanding support to Army Aviation."
A Chapter Program to Recognize Outstanding
Aviation Soldiers, Non-Commissioned Officers and DACs on a Monthly Basis
The AAAA supports a Chapter Awards Program in which Chapter-selected "Aviation Soldiers, NCOs and DACs of the Month" receive complimentary, one-year Association memberships underwritten by the AAAA.
The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) instituted the Professional Forum Soldier Sponsorship program to help underwrite the cost of sending one Junior Soldier (LT, WO1, E1-4), from each AAAA chapter to the AAAA Annual Professional Forum.
The AAAA provides the following complimentary Certificates to Chapters and Regions. The Certificates are 8 1/2" x 11" sheets with black imprinting and may be mounted as plaques.
Past Officer pins are available for Outgoing Chapter Officers whom the Chapter President feels have enhanced the Chapter's activities and the AAAA. They are not issued automatically.
